As a newTumbl community member, you have an important role in helping moderate content, should you choose to use this option. You have the ability to flag a blog post that you think could be in violation of our Terms of Service.
To flag a post:
- At the bottom of any post you will see seven icons. Click on the flag icon to flag a post
- You will then have a choice of five flagging categories that will indicate what the post violation is
- Choose the violation and the post will be flagged
- The user whose post is flagged will have the option to either delete the post or wait for newTumbl content moderators to review the content of the post and determine if it is indeed in violation of our Terms of Service
Let's look over the five flagging categories:
Spam is very annoying and not helpful at all. Spam comes in all forms and at times will be frequently posted. Flag spam and help us get it off of newTumbl!
When you flag a post for Wrong Rating, it would be because someone edited their post content to be at a higher rating than their blog. As a result, the original post rating no longer applies and should be changed to reflect the edited content of the post. The poster would need to increase the rating of their blog to continue to show the flagged post.
Material that is illegal (including pornography involving minors, bestiality and zoophilic pornography, speech that encourages hate or violence, materials related to terrorism, prostitution, human trafficking, and the sale of drugs, weapons, or armaments) or anything else that is criminal to post should be flagged accordingly. We will take action against those that post this content.
Flag a post as No Permission if you see that someone is improperly posting content depicting you in a manner that requires their consent and they have not obtained your proper permission to publish it.
Flag a post as a Copyright Violation if you own the copyright to content within a post and the poster has not obtained proper permission to publish it.
You can always remove a flag from a post by clicking the flag icon again and selecting Remove This Flag.
