newTumbl relies on ratings to identify and filter content so that you can feel safe browsing the web site. In your account settings, you are provided with options to customize the rating for content you feel comfortable viewing. The system will ensure that you don't encounter unsavory posts or wander into blogs that would make you feel uncomfortable.
In order for the system to work, newTumbl relies on the community as a whole to rate content. Blog publishers are requested to learn what the ratings mean and provide accurate ratings on all published content. Monitors review all content and provide input to our admins who determine a final rating of a post. The system works best when all parties are familiar with and mindful of the ratings guidelines.
Rating your post
All post types require you to rate your post before you publish it. When creating or editing a post, review the ratings guidelines and select an appropriate rating for your post. Click on the appropriate rating letter that accurately reflects the content you are posting. If you've edited a post, the content rating may change - please select a new rating as necessary.
You can also rerate your post by doing the following:
- You can click Rerate (eye icon) for an already created post from your View my blog page after clicking the three vertical dots to the right of your chosen post
Your choices, from left to right, reflect your content. Your rating letters are as follows:
- F - Family, safe for kids
- O - Office, safe for work
- M - Mature, not safe for work
- X - Explicit, really not safe for work
- W - Wowww!!, not safe for anywhere
Important notes:
newTumbl's rating system is designed to allow people to safely browse content within their own comfort zone. We rely on you to submit accurate ratings on the posts you create in order for this system to work. When post ratings are not set correctly, other users may flag your post, which will trigger a mandatory review by our administrative team.
