newTumbl community members have an important role in helping moderate content. Users have the ability to flag a blog post that they think could be in violation of our Terms of Service.
If one of your blog posts gets flagged, that indicates your post has been labeled by another community member as Spam, Wrong Rating, Illegal Content, posted with No Permission, or posted as a Copyright Violation. You can either delete the post if you agree with the flag, or leave it for newTumbl moderators to look at it.
Let's look over the five flagging categories:
Spam:
Spam is very annoying and not helpful at all. Spam comes in all forms and at times will be frequently posted.
Wrong Rating:
When your post is flagged for Wrong Rating, it would be because you edited your post content to be at a higher rating than your blog. As a result, your original post rating no longer applies and should be changed to reflect the edited content of your post. You would need to increase the rating of your blog to continue to show the flagged post.
Illegal Content:
Material that is illegal (including pornography involving minors, bestiality and zoophilic pornography, speech that encourages hate or violence, materials related to terrorism, prostitution, human trafficking, and the sale of drugs, weapons, or armaments) or anything else that is criminal to post should be flagged accordingly. We will take action against those that post this content.
No Permission:
If your post is flagged as No Permission, you may be improperly posting content depicting someone else in a manner that requires their consent and you have not obtained their proper permission to publish it.
Copyright Violation:
If your post is flagged as a Copyright Violation, someone else may own the copyright to content within your post and you have not obtained proper permission to publish it.
